Flatbed Trailers
Flatbed trailers are one of the most common freight hauling trailers on the road today. Flatbeds are ideal for carrying oversized and super-heavy cargo that won’t fit in a dry van trailer.
Flatbeds come in many forms from Step Deck flatbed trailers such as Single Drop Decks to Double Drop Decks, Double-Drop Trailer with Detachable Decks (a.k.a. Lowboy flatbeds), Stretch Drop Deck and Stretch Double Drop Deck trailers (with 2 or 3 axels). There are also Extendable/Expandable Flatbed Trailers allowing for a customized trailer length to accommodate for varied sizes of cargo. Some flatbeds feature Removable Gooseneck (RGNs) hitches. Flatbeds are often tarped to minimize weather damage to the cargo. Flatbeds are used across the world as a standard for shipping.
Most standard flatbed trailers can haul freight with the legal maximum weight and dimensions.
Maximum Step Deck Hauling Capacity:
- 48,000 lbs.
